Perfect for motor yachts and trailer boats of all sizes, it ensures a comfortable experience whether cruising or at anchor. Importantly, the ARG will be more effective in bigger wave heights compared to all RAM driven alternatives.

The ARG is a very popular among Game Fishermen and recreational boaties in New Zealand. Talk to other boaties about their gyro – the chances are they have an ARG.
What is a Marine Gyro Stabiliser?
An ARG Gryo Stabiliser is a vessel stabilisation device that virtually eliminates the roll of your boat at zero speeds, trolling speeds and whilst underway, to keep your vessel level so your cooking is safer, you experience less fatigue and so you can spend more time enjoying your boat and less time feeling sea sick.
The ARG gyro has a spinning mass called a flywheel, driven by a motor at high speed. The flywheel sits in a gimbal that swings (Fore and Aft) based on the listing (Port to Starboard) or rolling of your boat. The gimbal motion in the ARG happens naturally and is not driven by hydraulic rams, meaning it can achieve a greater distance of travel. This means it produces anti-rolling torque for longer – in simplified terms, it means the ARG will continue working and be more effective in bigger waves than all ram driven alternatives.
ARG Gyro Installations
Gyro stabilisers don’t need to be complicated. The ARG Gyro was designed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the space station. The simplicity is un-matched by any other gyro. The ARG Gyro does not have complex computers, pumps, hydraulics, rams or sensors that can lead to a failure. There is no maintenance to worry about – some other gyro options require anode changes and servicing every 3 months!
The ARG is maintenance free and does not require regular servicing.
The installation of an ARG Gryo is one point that sets it apart from its competitors. The ARG can be mounted anywhere in the boat. Generally, mounting in the lazarette or engine room is the easiest and most cost-effective option, but our team of experts will guide you through what’s right for your boat.

What’s Involved in Installing an ARG Gyro to my Boat?
Typically, most boats will have sufficient strength in the hull to accept a gyro. There may be some strengthening required in a small number of cases, but this is easily completed by our team or your boat builder.
If you are having an ARG unit installed to your new vessel during the build period, the boat builder and designer will allow for the gyro and the strength is incorporated into the hull at build.
The easiest location to mount a gyro is on the center line of the boat and usually spanning your engine bearers. This is the back bone of your boat and the strongest location to put the gyro. The ARG gyro can be mounted anywhere in the boat, but its important to consider the strength of the location and any weight added off center line may need to be offset. Most gyro installations are in the engine room or lazarette.
Our plate mounting system makes easy work of installing the ARG gyro, and the added simplicity of the ARG makes it the least complicated to install compared to all other gyro.
